Cold zones in the traditional refrigerator
The temperature of your traditional refrigerator is not uniform between the top, middle, bottom, and refrigerator door. It is important for better conservation to store food in the right place.

The 4 zones:
Between 0 ° C and 3 ° C: Cold zone
This cold zone, located just above your vegetable drawer, is intended for storing raw meat and fish, cold cuts, fresh fruit juices, products to be thawed, and ready-made meals, shellfish.

Between 4 ° C and 6 ° C: cool zone
Ideally, 5 ° C for this central part which accommodates all cooked foods (vegetables, meats, fruits, fish), pastries, sauces, unopened and started dairy products such as hard or semi-firm cheeses, yogurts, cream fresh. The high shelf of your appliance (8 ° C) can also accommodate these foods, which are recommended to be “refrigerated after opening”.

Between 8 ° C and 10 ° C: vegetable drawer
In the bottom of the refrigerator, the vegetable bin (s) are used to store all the vegetables on one side and fresh fruit on the other, but also the cheeses that are being matured. This compartment prevents damage to food that cannot withstand low temperatures.

Between 10 ° C and 15 ° C: temperate zone – the refrigerator door
This last zone, the hottest of your equipment, includes all the products that can withstand light refrigeration: eggs, butter, drinks (milk, wine, sodas, water, fruit juice), condiments, jams, drinks, sauces. types salad dressings, mustard.

To clearly visualize these different areas, here is a diagram to help you better understand:

My advice for checking the temperature of your different zones:
Place a glass of water in your refrigerator in which a thermometer soaks. After about 30 minutes, observe the temperature thus obtained. This reading corresponds to the temperature of your food at a corresponding cold zone. Repeat the operation on the other cold areas.

Finally, be aware that refrigerators of the mixed air or ventilated cold type do not require looking into the internal organization of foodstuffs since the cold is uniform.
